EIPL has created Phloton, a portable cooling device aimed at vaccine delivery in remote areas lacking electricity access. It maintains the critical vaccine temperature range (2-8°C) through built-in solar panels, addressing the challenge of last-mile delivery. The device includes real-time temperature monitoring to prevent exposure to extreme temperatures. Its off-grid solar charging system ensures continuous operation, tackling vaccine spoilage issues noted by the WHO due to inadequate last-mile cold chain capacity and temperature monitoring.
